Commercial Fishermen Pursue Offshore Wind Careers.

Vineyard Wind is currently building the nation’s first utility-scale offshore wind energy project over 15 miles off the coast of Massachusetts.  The project will generate clean, renewable, affordable energy for over 400,000 homes and businesses across the Commonwealth, while reducing carbon emissions by over 1.6 million tons per year.

Between 2019 and 2021, CFLO’s working with Offshore Wind Farm Support have been onboard Offshore Wind Survey vessels who collected over 220,000 km of survey miles and encountered well over 1,400 crossing situations commercial fishing vessels and other marine traffic and to date, have had ZERO negative interactions.

ALL Fisheries Liaisons working for Offshore Wind Farm Support have extensive experience working on and running commercial fishing boats, and are well known and respected within the fishing community.
